Get together to honor Veterans at Bay Pines.
The Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club Station 15 organized a run to Bay Pines on Saturday 10, 2006 to visit and honor the veterans living at Bay Pines. It was a big success and we were able to spread a little cheer to those valiant veterans who gave so much to make our country free. Pictures were taken by Lowell "Saint" St. Cyr of the American Legion Riders Post 104 and Gene Shaner of the Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club.
The Riders of the American Legion Post 104 met up with the men and women of Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club Station 15 at the Sports Bar across from Bay Pines at Noon. There we all had a beverage and  planned our afternoon with the veterans in the Bay Pines domicilary.
Kick Stands Up at 1300 hours for this  short ride to the Veterans Hospital. It was sunny, hot and good to be moving, even for  just a short time.
The men and women of the Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club and riders from the American Legion Post 104 walked through the halls of the hospital, knocking on doors and talking to those living there. They were thanked for their service and the Fire and Iron M/C passed out patriotic t-shirts to any who would have them.
One old World War II vet thanked us and said he was going to give it to his girlfriend so she could enter a wet t-shirt contest.
After making their rounds the bikers met back in the rec room. There we had a few final words and visited the early birds waiting for us to clear out so they could start bingo.

After the visit to Bay Pines everyone got together for a few beverages and fellowship at the American Legion Post 104. It was a good day and we made a few old vets know that we still remembered and honored their service. The Fire and Iron M/C is a fine group and we were proud to work with them to help out.
